SSC JE Exam
The JE is one of the most challenging yet opportunities for creating exam in India. It is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for various posts in ministries and departments of government.

The engineering branches that are eligible for the SSC exam are civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. Therefore, candidates belonging to this discipline can go for this exam conducted by SSC.
Candidates are allowed to work in various posts such as BRO, CPWD, Central water commission, etc.
~ SSC JE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The criteria include the following –
- A citizen of India
- Subject of Nepal/ Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with a plan or intention to settle in India
~ EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
The SSC has set certain criteria in terms of educational qualification for candidates willing to apply for SSC JE.
The criteria are given below:
- Degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering from any recognized university in India.
- Diploma in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering from any recognized university or institute.
- 2/3 years of experience in respective field for a few posts such as junior engineer in Military Engineer Service.
~SSC EXAM PATTERN:
The exam pattern is given below –
Paper 1 – Computer Based Examination
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- General Awareness
Part A- General engineering (civil and structural)
Part B- General engineering (electrical)
Part C- General engineering (mechanical)
- General intelligence and reasoning and general awareness are comprised of total of 50 marks.
- General engineering (electrical+ mechanical) is comprising are of 100 marks
Paper 2: written examination
Part A- General engineering (civil and structural)
Part B- General engineering (electrical)
Part C – general engineering ( mechanical) is of 300 marks.
The duration of paper-1 and paper-2 is 2 hours each.
