It is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit Group B and Group C officers to various posts in top ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. The Staff Selection Commission was established in 1975.
Mandatory Information About SSC CGL Exam - Syllabus, Exam Pattern
Candidates applying for SSC CGL need to have a bachelor’s degree in any recognized university in India at the time of applying. The age limit may vary depending on the position they applied.
All women, people belonging to SC, and ST, physically disabled people, and ex-servicemen are eligible for a reservation and exempted from paying the fees.
The examination has four major tiers which are conducted in different ways. A computer proficiency test and skill test were also added as a tier for some posts.
Tier 1: Preliminary
Tier 1 Examination consists of a written objective multiple-choice exam with four sections, covering the question of-

- General Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Comprehension
The exam is typically scored with a maximum of 50 marks per section, for total marks of 200.

Tier 2: Mains exam
Tier 2 Exam consists of a written multiple-choice exam, in three sections.
